With their backs against the wall the Colts went out and did what they needed to do to get a win on the road against the division rival Houston Texans on Sunday. It was a tough game that could potentially offer a playoff preview if the Colts can take care of business and get a break or two down the stretch. There were a lot of things to like about the way this team played on defense Anthony Walker Jersey Stitched , and the offense got humming once Frank Reich made some adjustments in the second quarter. Let’s take a look at the snap counts for this game and see if they reveal anything interesting.Offense#PlayerPositionOffensive SnapsPercentDefensive SnapsPercentSpecial Teams SnapsPercent#PlayerPositionOffensive SnapsPercentDefensive SnapsPercentSpecial Teams SnapsPercentNotesI was a little surprised to see that Mark Glowinski missed so many snaps in this game. He left with an ankle injury and found himself back in the mix briefly later, but left again after being unable to continue. I was surprised, because the drop off between he and Josh Andrews wasn’t all that noticeable. I’m sure that a close review of the film might reveal otherwise, but the overall takeaway for me is that the Colts backup offensive linemen have done a very solid job this season.Despite being the receiver who had the second most snaps on the offense, Ryan Grant was targeted just once. In a field of really solid draft picks and free agent pickups Youth Kenny Moore Jersey , Grant just has not achieved what the Colts would have hoped of him.Jordan Wilkins didn’t get a single snap with the offense in Sunday’s game. To a degree that is understandable, because he doesn’t have the versatility of Hines or the explosiveness of Mack, but his vision is really good and I would like to see him used, even if in a limited capacity.Reece Fountain got his first action after being activated from the practice squad with Dontrelle Inman unable to play this week. He was in on 3 snaps and got 3 on special teams as well. He wasn’t targeted in that time.Defense#PlayerPositionOffensive SnapsPercentDefensive SnapsPercentSpecial Teams SnapsPercent#PlayerPositionOffensive SnapsPercentDefensive SnapsPercentSpecial Teams SnapsPercentNotesThe group of defensive backs for the Colts getting the bulk of the snaps has been nearly unchanged for most of this season. Kenny Moore, Pierre Desir Kenny Moore Jersey Stitched , Clayton Geathers, and Malik Hooker as well as Darius Leonard have gotten 100 percent of the defensive snaps when they were healthy. Leonard and Moore and 23, Hooker is 22. Great to see the Colts getting meaningful defensive snaps from some young and productive guys. Al-Quadin Muhammad saw an uptick in snaps this week, cutting into Tyquan Lewis’ time on the field a bit for the first time since Lewis got healthy. Kemoko Turay also saw diminished snaps, likely due to the Texans tendency to run the ball and his limited effectiveness there. Matthew Adams seems to have staked his claim on the SAM linebacker job Youth Eric Ebron Jersey , earning himself more time over the past few weeks with his hard hitting play against the running game. Despite a couple bad penalties being called on him in the past two weeks, he has looked pretty solid.2 of Grover Stewart’s 22 snaps resulted in big penalties called on him. That just cannot happen. You can’t have your rotational defensive linemen killing you with penalties.Special Teams#PlayerPositionOffensive SnapsPercentDefensive SnapsPercentSpecial Teams SnapsPercent#PlayerPositionOffensive SnapsPercentDefensive SnapsPercentSpecial Teams SnapsPercent Briefly analyzing the most interesting statistics about the Colts season."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Colts StoriesScheduleRosterStatsYahoo Colts NewsYahoo Colts Team PageYahoo Colts ReportYahoo Colts Depth ChartYahoo Colts TransactionsYahoo Colts PhotosShop About Masthead Community Guidelines StubHub ✕The Colts offense has work to do but numbers don’t lie New,8commentsBriefly analyzing the most interesting statistics about the Colts season.ESTShareTweetShareShareThe Colts offense has work to do but numbers don’t lie Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY SportsThe Colts, Chargers and Chiefs were the only teams in the League with multiple double-digit scorers. Indy had tight end Eric Ebron, who scored a combined 14 touchdowns — 13 receiving and 1 rushing — and running back Marlon Mack Eric Ebron Jersey Stitched , who scored a combined 10 touchdowns — 9 rushing and 1 receiving.Despite the glaring need to add weapons at receiver to support T.Y Hilton, the Colts can feel confident about their offensive firepower at other positions. Ebron finished fifth in the League in total touchdowns. Having an elite quarterback in Andrew Luck has revitalized Ebron’s career and it seems that he wants to stay in Indianapolis for the long run. Fellow tight ends Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox help create a formidable rotation. As for Marlon Mack — reviewed here — his level of play should give the Colts confidence that they don’t have to spend considerable resources during the off-season for a new starter. Throw in that rookies Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins were both effective in a rotational role and the running back room also looks rather solid. The renaissance of the Colts offensive line in 2018 is one of the biggest stories of the season. Andrew Luck started his career as the most hit or sacked quarterback in the NFL. He was the least sacked or hit quarterback in the league last season. This new offensive line, one that will enter 2019 intact, helped Luck quickly get back to speed in the Colts offense and helped him to have one of the most productive and efficient seasons of his career.Again, the Chargers and Chiefs boasted two of the most dominant offenses in the NFL. Both teams received a lot of respect from analysts throughout the season. While the Colts didn’t garner the same attention Youth Ryan Grant Jersey , having to work back from a near-impossible early season hole, they already have the playmakers to be one of the most feared units in the league in 2019. Don’t get me wrong, a #2 receiver is still high on the offseason priority list, but it won’t take a full scale overhaul to put the finishing touches on an already dangerous offense.
